Secretariat

We are happy to announce our Secretary-General and Chairpersons of UnisaMUN 2016 committees!

 Kevin Mr Kevin Rodgers

Secretary-General

sg@unisamun.org

Dear Reader, my name is Kevin Rodgers and I am delighted that you are interested in the 2016 Edition of UnisaMUN. It is my pleasure and task to serve as the Secretary General of this extraordinary Conference. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Journalism at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. This will be third UnisaMUN for me and the first time as a Secretary General. This is a grand task and I am equally as excited as I was before the very first Model UN in 2012. However I am confident that 2016 will be a great success thanks to a highly skillful team, a beautiful setting and I encourage you to apply and join us in Salerno. See you there!

DA Mr Davide Annarumma

Chairperson – Security Council

Davide “Dave” Annarumma is the typical southern-Italian boy, born and raised in Salerno, blessed by the sun and the nice weather. He is a 23-year-old student, currently finishing his Master’s degree thesis in International Relations at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, after a bachelor in Business Administration at the University of Salerno. He is interested in international and European Economics, International Relations and foreign policy. While studying for the Bachelor, he discovered the fantastic world of MUNs. He has attended various MUNs in Italy, Germany and Romania (Salerno, Bonn, Berlin, Cluj-Napoca), both as a delegate and as chairperson. 2016 will be his “MUN-year”, since he will participate as a “specialist” in Leuven, chairperson in Milan, and somebody says he will appear in Berlin! He has a passion for everything that is related to Economics and European studies, and he is actually working as an intern at the EU Commission Representation in Rome, in the Economics department. He is looking forward to meeting you all in his hometown, Salerno! Ciao!

OK Ms Olga Koutsika

Chairperson – Security Council

Hello everyone! My name is Olga Koutsika and I am 21 years old. I recently graduated from the Professional Dance School of the Greek National Opera, but instead of pursuing a typical ballerina’s career I decided to focus on my law studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, but at the same time on what I find myself most addicted to, namely MUNing. Even though this will not be my first chairing experience, I am sure that it will be the most memorable one not only because I will meet all of you but also because I will be given the opportunity to chair the most fascinating committee of the United Nations, which of course is the Security Council. My personal eagerness for international relations in general and international law in particular has arised from several simulations of the UN and European institutions, but you will be lucky enough to consider that your eagerness will start with UnisaMUN, something that both I and my co-chair Davide Annarumma will make sure of. Finally, even though it is of customary nature to end such bio descriptions with a fun fact about ourselves, such information will be disclosed in person under the discretion of the Chair!

kupis - picture Mr Pawel Kupis

Chairperson – UNEA

Born in Poland during the fall of communism, he has never lost his rebellious nature. During his long-lasting career in the MUN community, he has always believed that discussion is a method of confirming others in their errors. He enjoys jazz, black humour and chocolate chip cookies. You can easily buy his friendship with Haribo gummy bears. Paweł is now looking forward to chair the UNEP with his natural charm and a heart-warming smile. Singing and dancing included.

ania Ms Anna Sikorska

Chairperson – UNEA

Another part of the Polish gang at UNISAMUN and UNEP is Anna Sikorska. Anna is a student from Warsaw, Poland, who is currently pursuing her degree in International Relations. So far, she has chaired conferences in the United Kingdom, Germany, Serbia and Belgium. Even though her adventure with Model United Nations has started rather recently, her first conference being in 2014, it quickly became her passion. After having participated in several MEU/MUN conferences, she decided to take on active role in organizing Model EU and UN in her hometown! Ania is Under Secretary General at POLMUN Warsaw. She is super curious about the delegates at UnisaMUN 2016 and will do her best to teach them some Polish together with Paweł! She also can’t wait to see her friends and make new ones! Make sure to always have some chocolate, that makes her very happy!

Mr Vassilis Pierros

Chairperson – UNICEF

Hello international people! My name is Vassilis Pierros and if I had to describe myself I would say that I am a polyglot Greek hearted European Citizen. I am a graduate student of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and currently I am working as a Trainee Lawyer at the Legal Council of the Hellenic State – Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism. Europe has always been and continues to be one of my most profound interests and passions and therefore I aspire to work on a professional basis in a European Institution. I have participated in numerous national and international diplomatic conferences starting as a delegate, a head delegate and eventually a chair. It is an honor for me to be serving as a Chairperson in the UNICEF Committee in the 2016 edition of UnisaMUN and a profound pleasure to be returning in one of my favourite countries, Italy. I would like, thus to welcome you all to the UNICEF Committee and to UnisaMUN 2016!

NC Mr Nikoloz Charkviani

Chairperson – UNICEF

Nikoloz Charkviani is from Georgia. He is 22 years old. He has graduated from Free University of Tbilisi, Institute of Asia and Africa, with concentration on the Middle East, where he studied International Relations and at the same time Arabic language. Nikoloz is the president of Free Parliament, which is a non-governmental organization founded by Georgian students. During his work in the organization, he has planned and held more than 30 local and international educational events for youth. He was involved both in planning and implementation periods. He gives lectures on different topics connected to civil education.

KZ Ms Kalliopi Zermioti

Chairperson – UNCTAD

Honourable delegates, welcome! My name is Kalliopi Zermioti, but I would definitely prefer you call me Kallia. I come from a small town in the West of Greece, but I currently study in Athens, where I live for the past six years. Soon I will complete my studies in the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in order to further activate myself in the field of international law, my area of passion. However, apart from general international law and air law, I’m also very interested in international trade relations and new frameworks of communication between legal and financial markets. For this reason, I’m thrilled to be your Chair for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in UnisaMUN 2016. I’ve participated in more than fifteen MUN Conferences and other Simulations, with this being my second UnisaMUN and my official sixth chairing experience, but my very first in UNCTAD. I’m looking forward to meeting you all, in October, in the beautiful and sunny city of Salerno!

Mr Philipp Zieten

Chairperson – UNCTAD

Philipp has been an MUN enthusiast since 2012. That year, his politics teacher forced him to participate in OLMUN. Since then he got the MUN virus and participated in 14 MUNs. Philipp was born and raised in Oldenburg, but in 2013 he decided to move to Berlin to study Economic education and History at the Humboldt University of Berlin. There he joined the BerlInMUN organization team and since 2014 he chairs the society of BerlInMUN. When Philipp is not at university or at an MUN Conference he likes to go to bars, pubs and cafés with friends. You can also find him quite often in the Mercedes-Benz Arena where he watches basketball and hopes that ALBA Berlin wins, unless they are playing against the EWE Baskets Oldenburg. He also plays American football. UnisaMUN 2016 will be his 15th MUN anniversary. He is really looking forward to meet you all.
